the service times for this sunday are:
8.00am joint bcp communion at sullington
10.30am joint family communion at thakeham
for those who don't know, 'bcp' stands for the book of common prayer which is basically a service book of extremely traditional language. it lasts for about 20 minutes, but it is really for those who just want a short quiet, traditional communion.
as it is the 5th sunday in the month, we share a joint service with sullington, and alternate them each time. the main service this week therefore is being held at thakeham church at 10.30am. it's a family communion which means everyone is welcome - and if there are children around, an activity will be provided for them during the service.
it is a special service today as we welcome the archedeacon of horsham, the venerable roger combes, to be with us today. this will be his first visit to us since the interregnum in 2007 and will be an opportunity for him to see how both churches are coming along. no doubt he will be using this occasion to gather information and report back to the bishop in due course. derek will be leading the service today and roger will be preaching.
it's again an opportunity for both churches to come together, to support one another and have fellowship together as brothers and sisters in christ. please make it a priority to support the mission of both churches.
the aim of both our churches at thakeham and sullington to serve the communites in which they exist. it's not an easy job, and we don't always get it right, but we feel passionate about wanting to make a difference in our community and to show people that we care for them.
we welcome anyone and everyone to come and join us at any of our services - we're really trying and hoping to build a real sense of community and togetherness within the church - we'd love to see you there.
