hi there, my name is derek and i am priest in charge at the churches of thakeham, sullington & warminghurst (& before you say anything, i'm the one on the right). i've been in post here since september 2007 when me and my family moved from over the other side of the a24 in steyning. i was the deanery youth missioner for 6 years before making the switch over to thakeham.
i have a passion to live christ in my life and to be the person god created me to be. i fail miserably, but the passion still burns, which enables me to carry on. i also desire to see the local church made relevant to the community in which it exists. i love meeting people and making them feel welcome, accepted and valued. my aim is to try and impact the church so that it then is outward looking and the people in it are striving to serve each other, the community and ultimately god. for far too long i think the church has just existed for its own means, but my mission is to see the church fulfil it's own mission: - to be christ centred.
