our church here in thakeham exists to serve the community. we want to be welcoming, friendly, caring, relevant, accessible and above all - christ-centred.
at some churches, you can feel alienated, unwelcomed, confused about what you need to do and when, or simply just not understand what's going on. we want to distant ourselves from that kind of feeling, so it's really important for us that if you came along to one of our services you wouldn't feel under any sort of pressure.
we really are trying to build a sense of community, by caring, supporting and encouraging one another. and i believe once we embrace that, we'll be in a better position for our church to carry that on into the wider community.
we try to cater for everyone through a wide range of services at church, from an all age and totally informal service, to a more structured liturgy. it is however really important that whatever we do, everyone feels part of it, and is able to engage with what's happening.
